Geophysics is the application of the principles of physics to the study of the Earth. The Earth is comprised of materials that have different physical properties. Clay and dolerite, for example, have different densities, acoustic velocities, elastic moduli, electrical conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities, and dielectric constants. Geophysical instruments are designed to map spatial variations in the physical properties of the Earth.[/porto_content_box][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_col-xs-4″][vc_single_image image=”115″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_col-xs-4″][vc_single_image image=”116″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ offset=”vc_col-xs-4″][vc_single_image image=”117″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
